Over the last years, I have contributed to increase knowledge about the ecology of microbial communities associated with different hosts and environments unveiling their roles in different systems. Plant-associated microbial communities are key players in plant defense and resilience in urban environments, where the atmospheric and soil pollution could undermine plant defense mechanisms against different pests. I am beginning my Junior Research contract aiming to unravel the microbial communities associated to urban green infrastructures and to develop endogenous microbial inoculums to promote plant resilience in the cities and enhance plant air remediation capacity.
