Biographical Info
Séverine is a P.hD architect, urban designer based in Brussels. She has 8 years' experience undertaking teaching, advisory work and strategic planning assignments. She handles Belgium-based and international projects with an action-oriented research focus. Her research work focuses on the analysis of the relationships between urban form and the climate agenda. She studies these complex connections at the city's scale and, more generally, of the territory. After completing her PhD, she worked as an urban planner, eager to bridge practice and theory. She is passionate about urban transformations and seeks to develop transversal approaches to address cities' challenges in different aspects. At BUUR part of Sweco, Séverine works as a project leader. She is involved in the spatial research team of the division BUUR. She develops actions on maximizing the performance of urban project/program implementation and stakeholder management. She also explores feasibility, cross-sectoral climate change adaptation, solutions to address environmental and urbanization impacts. She cultivates necessary international and local partnerships for future projects aligned with social, ethical, and sustainable urban planning targets for climate neutrality. She draft proposals for the European project, Brussels and Walloon Regions. She integrates the dynamic participatory co-design processes, resource and energy efficiency concepts, and densification strategies for preserving healthy and qualitative urban space. Her missions include: • Workshop's design and facilitation for international program • Support in the H2020 Research and Innovation,. • Monitoring and project management with the complex process • Technical written report and presentation
