Carolina is a young architect, graduated from the University of Lisbon, deeply interested in learning more and contributing to a more sustainable, inclusive, well-though building and built environment. Her master thesis on post-conflict architecture and governance, furthered her curiosity on vernacular and local typologies and building techniques as cost-efficient and work-promoting tools, strongly needed to face contemporary challenges such as rapid urbanization, climate-change effects, spatial injustice, urbi and culturcide, and the need for effective urban policy implementation strategies. Currently am doing a traineeship at Caixa Gestão de Ativos, an awarded portuguese property management company, Carolina still dedicates her free time advocating for better urban living conditions for all. She co-founded the portuguese chapter of ACAN (Architects Climate Action Network) and write monthly articles on the importance of good urban planning on social cohesion, particularly on suburban and peri-urban areas - for local newspapers and portuguese architecture online platforms such as Espaço de Arquitetura. Carolina is an avid learner, always willing to expand my areas of interest and knowledge. As an enthusiastic team worker, she eager to cooperate and learn from other professionals and projects, in order to create the change she truly aims wishes to see in the way we plan cities that better answer our true human needs.
