Trying to realise your project, you will have questions which we might not be able to answer. But don’t worry: there is a range of experts out there, ready to help you bring your vision to life. Here’s a (very incomplete) list of international organisations in the field of housing whom you can reach out to and consult.
Expert Organisations: Housing
Housing Europe
Housing Europe is a union of housing providers that stands for “a Europe which provides access to decent and affordable housing for all”. Social, economic, and environmental sustainability form the foundation of their work, and their website is full of helpful advice and resources.
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is a globally active charity aiming to end housing poverty and homelessness. Through various programmes, they try to meet that aim and build thriving communities worldwide.
International Union of Tenants
Founded in 1926, IUT provides you with a good 100 years of experience in fighting for tenants’ rights. IUT seeks to “realise the right of everyone to good housing” and bases its work on the Tenants' Charter.
Shelter
Shelter is a UK-based charity fighting for the right to a safe home. They also provide a huge collection of advice on housing.
World Habitat
World Habitat is a charity aiming to grant everyone access to “a safe and secure home in a successful community”. They develop and share approaches on how to reach that aim and put these approaches into action. Check out their huge collection of publications on housing.
Community Led Homes
A partnership project between various organisations, Community Led Homes aims to strengthen the community-led housing movement. It provides communities with support and hands-on advice on how to implement their own projects.
